In the film’s opening scene, two kidnapped children attend a phony
audition. Gisselle poses as an agent from a Honduran modeling agency in
order to seduce Miguel and Rocio away from their father Roberto. When
Roberto returns to pick up his children, he realizes that the entire
audition was a ruse. When Tim and his colleague return to the United
States, they are successful in apprehending and imprisoning a child
predator. Tim admits to his prisoner that he has some of the same evil
intentions and believes that more can be done than simply apprehending a
predator. All of this is a scheme to induce Tim to buy a child and save
him from a life of pain, while also apprehending another modern-day
slave trader. Miguel is the young man who was smuggled into the United
States after traveling from Honduras to Columbia to Mexico. Tim learns
more about Miguel, who tells Tim that his sister Rocio has arrived in
Columbia. Tim rushes to Cartagena to save Rocio, feeling obligated to
reunite with his family and ease Roberto’s pain.
