In Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1965, a concerned man calls the police after hearing noises emanating from his neighbor’s apartment. This is how the opening scenes of “Boston Strangler” are set up. When the police come, they find a woman dead on the ground with what seems to be the same piece of cloth that had been used to strangle her.
